Settling in at Saint Joseph’s was easier than expected. Everyone around me has been extremely supportive and helpful, alongside being very friendly. I am starting to feel very comfortable within my new family.
There are a few traditions that I’m still getting used to; such as standing when a teacher enters a classroom, but with time, I’m sure they will start to feel natural.
After a few days, I eventually found where everything was and how everything works around here. Finding classrooms and lockers was a major challenge, but when I asked someone where something was, they were more than happy to help me out.
All the boys are very inclusive and sociable. From the first day I arrived, I felt as though I belonged.
The staff too have been exceedingly supportive. They are a lot different than the staff back home as they push us a lot harder and further.
The boarding lifestyle – though different, confusing and tiring at first – is finally starting to make sense and I’m sure I will benefit greatly from it.
I am looking forward to embracing the further challenge of Saint Josephs.
