History Wide Reading in the Library

During week 2 the library welcomed Mr. Tim William’s 7R and 7L History classes for a wide reading lesson. Mr. Williams spoke to the boys about the importance and joy of reading for pleasure and invited them to choose any book to read as long as it had historical content. The library staff then spoke to the boys about a range of interesting and engaging books they had selected from fiction, non-fiction and biography and assisted the boys in selecting a book to read. The boys immersed themselves in reading for the lesson and genuinely loved this opportunity, with most boys borrowing their book at the end of the lesson.
