Morning mass with Year 12 buddies

Each Wednesday morning before school there is an optional Mass in the Chapel for any staff or boys who wish to attend. On 13 March the Year 12 boys invited their Year 7 buddies to join them at Mass.

Year 7 report at Assembly

On 13 March at Assembly, two Year 7 boys, Wallace McKay and Harry Sullivan, presented a report on behalf of their year group about their first weeks at Joeys so far.

PDHPE practical lesson

Year 7 painting

Our Year 7 artists are painting up a storm in the studio.  Delicious cup cakes have been transformed into colorful artworks as boys learn about composition and colour relationships whilst studying the techniques of Pop artist Wayne Thiebaud.

Thursday roast night

Roast chicken and roast beef with potatos, corn on the cob and gravy. No one is going hungry tonight! The boys eat dinner at 6:30 pm between evening study sessions.

Ash Wednesday liturgy

The boys had a liturgy in the Hall to recognise Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent where boys received ashes on their foreheads. The College Lenten Appeal was also launched during the liturgy.

Lenten appeal

Each year during Lent the boys raise funds for a different cause. They are encouraged to give something up and make a sacrifice to help someone who is not as well off as themselves. Speed training

Great to see so many Year 7 boys taking part in the optional morning speed training. This runs each Wednesday and Friday morning on the back ovals from 6:30 am. Swimmers also training early.

Laser tag on Sunday

The boarders had a great day at Laser Tag today.

13C’s score a victory in the wet

The 13C’s had a good win against Newington in the wet. Hamish Smith and Toby Williams both scored a half century and each of the bowlers got at least one wicket on a wet concrete pitch.  

PDHPE Excursion

On Friday the boys spent periods 3 and 4 at the Park doing athletics testing as a PDHPE excursion. The were all tested in shot-put, high jump, long jump, sprinting and distance running.

Singing practice

The boys had a short singing practice tonight with Year 8 and 11. Although outnumbered by the other year groups, Year 7 sung strongly. Br Anthony said they were better than Year 11 when they were in Year 7.
