Joeys Year 11 2020

Solidarity September through Donation Dollar

The Australian Mint has recently released a new $1 coin called the ‘Donation Dollar’ (image above). It’s the first of its kind in the world to be produced and can be spent as a regular dollar. The intention of it though, is to encourage us to donate to those in need; it acts as a reminder to us all to be generous, it’s not a collectable coin but rather one that we should give away. Marist Schools Australia is asking that we use this new Aussie initiative to support Marist Solidarity. The link below will provide you with further information on the Donation Dollar:

Our 2020 Lenten Appeal was cut short with Covid, yet the cause we were supporting, the building work at St Louis High School in Kiribati, is still desperately required. If every student in every Marist school donated just $1, AMS could finish the building work urgently needed at St Louis High School.

We are hoping that Joeys can get behind this great initiative for the remaining two weeks of term.
