2020 Lenten Appeal

by | 26 February

This year the Lenten Appeal focuses on St Louis High School in Kiribati. St Louis High School was established by the Marist Brothers in 1984. With aging infrastructure, environmental pressures and a growing cohort, St Louis High School desperately requires upgrades.

Located on the small island of Tarawa in Kiribati (pronounced Ki-ri-bas) St Louis’ is in a region that experiences a high level of poverty and vulnerability and is under threat from rising sea levels. Kiribati’s population is also growing quickly and is expected to double by 2025 with half the population being under the age of 21.

We are asking the boys to go without something (it could be a slurpee or some chocolates) and instead donate to the Lenten Appeal. If each boy is able to donate $20 between now and Easter we can raise over $20,000 for St Louis High School. The boys can leave their donations in the Year 8 Boarding Office.
