Mentor Program

In 2021 all students at St Joseph’s College will be involved in the Mentor Program. The boys meet in smaller groups with a teacher each morning before school for a short period and then each Wednesday for a longer period. The Mentor teacher adds another point of connection for each student.

The program will focus on explicit teaching of skills around:

  • Social and emotional learning skills to enhance capacity and resilience
  • Learning skills to assist the boys in their studies
  • A greater awareness of social justice issues which align with our Catholic faith.
  • Holistic formation of the boys to prepare them for life as a Joeys graduate.

This morning we had our first Wednesday mentoring period. Below are some photos from some of the Year 10 Mentor sessions where the boys getting to know each other and their mentor and were discussing what well-being is.
