Congratulations to our 16A Water Polo team on their premiership, remaining undefeated throughout the season. The 16A’s took on a Trinity side, who went very close to defeating Newington a couple of weeks ago. A win would mean Joeys first ever premiership (shared with Newington) as a result of a six all draw in the very first round of the competition back in October last year. The boys got off to a great start scoring early in the quarter and racing to a 4-0 lead. A strong Trinity defence slowed our scoring and the next two quarters were very close. Going into the final quarter with a 6-3 lead there was no way the boys were going to give up that lead and dominated the final period (3-0) to take out the match 9-3. The team finished on top of the competition with 26 points scoring 116 goals and only allowing 18 against them. An outstanding effort. Thanks to Oliver Gardiner for the photos.
