Today in our mentoring period the boys learnt how to take notes.
This was a chance to explicitly teach the boys the Cornell note taking method which is used widely here at Joeys. The method assists the boys while actually taking notes but, more importantly, assists their learning of the content and helps them structure their writing.
The boys now have an electronic copy of the template which they can print or modify for their own use and they will be encouraged to put these skills into practice by their teachers and evening study supervisors.
