The details for the lunch are as follows:

  • Lunch will commence at 12.48pm and finish at 1.30 to ensure boys have time to get to their next class.
  • All parents/carers are invited to join your sons for a “whole year lunch” on the lawn.
  • No need to bring a thing…..Parent Reps will be providing lunch for the boys – we are going to do a sausage sizzle, chicken skewers, salads, ice creams, cakes, fruit and drinks.
  • NB the Year 9 REF (kitchen) will be closed so ALL BOYS are to attend even if their parents aren’t able to make it.
  • We would love it if some parents can make/bake cakes/slices to be served  after lunch.
  • We ask that all parents attending donate $10 to the kitty to help cover the cost of lunch – we will be passing around the hat on the day.
  • When the boys head back to class all parents are warmly invited to “Walk On” to the Woolwich Pier for a catch up.
  • We will have a few spare sausages on the BBQ for any parents unable to join us at the Woolwich Pier afterwards.

Look forward to catching up ………………if its wet we will still go ahead but maybe not on the lawn , we will update the location on the day.

Cakes / Slices :  Parents bringing cakes on the day please bring to the BBQ area.  A table will be available to place them on. Please ensure that the cakes are cut and ready to serve. If you need to drop them at school the day before please drop off to Mr Mick Blair.

Friday French social night

French Dance NIghtOn Friday night the Year 9 French students attended a French dance night. It was a great night with plenty of beaming faces and positive comments as we left the venue, having made new friends and enjoyed the music and atmosphere.  It is possible that some of the joy came from the fact that they pretty quickly realised they were the only boys’ school there and that the ratio of boys to girls was about 1:5.

Hunters Hill-Le Vesinet Exchange students

Year 9 French with our three Hunters Hill-Le Vesinet Exchange students working together.

The Hunters Hill-Le Vesinet Exchange is in its 27th year and Students in Years 9-11 who study French can participate by going to France to stay with a French family in the outer Parisian suburb of Le Vesinet, a sister municipality to Hunters Hill  for 6 weeks in December/January, before reciprocating and receiving their French host brother in June/July.

It was the French students’ first day at school after 3 weeks of holiday time with their host families (Each of these students have been hosted by a current Year 11 student studying French), exploring places far and wide such as Thredbo, Hamilton Island and Byron Bay. Although wearing a uniform was a complete novelty for them, they easily slipped into their roles as honorary “Joe Boys” for the 3 weeks ahead.
