Summer Sport
With only two weekends remaining of the Winter Sports Competition, it is time to start thinking about Summer Sport. The boys have been asked to get their uniforms organised and for the cricketers it is time to dust off the cobwebs and get the old kit out ready for the season ahead. The boys will commence trials/training as early as Monday August 14 following the completion of the Winter Season. There are no set compulsory events on Saturdays throughout the season apart from your sons attendance at his own match.

Optional Mass
Optional Mass is held every Wednesday morning at 8.10am and Saturday morning at 7.15am (during the Winter Sport season) in the Br Michael Naughtin Theatre. This is a perfect way for the boys to start the day and a great opportunity to make time for God in their lives. Year 7 partake in these two days very well but I do encourage you all to have a conversation with your son about the benefits of attending mass.

Headmasters Assembly
Mr. Tarlinton addressed the assembly today and made reference to effort and hard work when speaking to the boys. He encouraged the boys to evaluate their work in Semester One and to challenge themselves to progress this term. He referred the Academic Reports that the boys recently received and asked the boys to ‘strive for better things’. The boys were reminded by Br Anthony that nothing in life is free and that they will be rewarded if they put in the effort to succeed.
These words are very important as we move into a huge term. Let’s make this term a rewarding one where we celebrate the successes of the boys in Year 7 but also take responsibility to make changes where needed. This Term is about the growth and development of the young men in Year 7. I am sure that this will be the case.
