Rugby Summary
- A very good day at the many away venues with great results across the age groups.
- All games: played 41; won 29; drew 1; lost 11.
- Games against Kings: played 19; won 13; lost 6.
- Games against Scots: played 9; won 7; lost 2.
- Games against Knox; played 7; won 4; drew1; lost 2.
- The opposition in-goal area was a dangerous place to be with 1,365 points scored throughout the day. The boys defended extremely well yesterday only conceding 585 points. The boys held the opposition to 10 or less points in an amazing 21 matches. Average points scored were 33.3 points in attack and 14.3 points defence.
- Heartbreak in the 1st XV with a second loss by only 4 points.
- The 2nd XV bounced back well with a 20-8 victory after their 0-24 loss in round 1 of the competition.
- The 3rd XV were clinical in their 36-5 drubbing of Scots at Bellevue Hill. Joeys and Armidale remain undefeated on top of the 3rd XV competition table – these teams play each other on 5 August at Hunters Hill.
- The improvement continued in the 13s age group with 4 wins out of 7 matches. The 15Bs continued to build friendships across Sydney – they have played a different school every Saturday during the season.
- Most successful team of the day was shared by the 11th XV and 13Ds who won by 79-5 and 74-0 respectively.
- The game of the day was the 15Gs. Against a Kings team containing very big boys and down 5-14 at halftime; the team rallied in the second half to win 24-21. The boys showed great commitment, superior fitness and refused to be intimidated by the opposition.
Football Summary
- The football boys had a successful day over at St George Stadium against Scots.
- Played 16; won 8; drew 2; lost 6.
- Strong results in the Opens (only 2 losses out of 7 played), 15s (1 win from 1 game) and 13s (1 loss out of 4 games) age groups.
- First XI conceded a goal in the final minute to lose 2-3 while the second XI had a 0-0 draw.
- Best performed team was the 13Cs who defeated Scots 5-0.
AFL Summary
- The AFL boys maintained the rage after the long break with a 68-8 win against Cranbrook at Riverview. This is the official score when the mercy rule commenced; the boys actually won 95-10.
- Top goal scorers were Jack Dillon, Ben Clark and Ethan Watmore who scored 2 maximums each.
- Ethan Watmore was outstanding picking up the best on field votes from both the coaches and the players.
- After 8 rounds of the competition, the boys have won 4 games and lost 3 games. Round 1 was a bye.
