Mr Forsberg’s Year 9 Agriculture class travelled to Colo last Friday and the boys weighed and recorded the weights of 10 of our 2016 calves. They found out the current selling prices for the animals of these liveweights and calculated a possible a possible gross return of $6000.

Members of Stage Band, Big Band and Jazz Improvisation Ensemble attended the open concert practice for Jazz Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music today. The excursion allowed students the opportunity to further heighten their awareness of improvisational approaches, ensemble work and performance.

On the menu tonight, a red curry with rice, beans and squash, topped off with a peanut butter and banana dessert pizza. Who said boarding school food was bad?

Oscar Bäck and Finlay Ryan, who are continuing their study of Spanish (which they previously studied at home in the USA) by doing Distance Education Spanish through the NSW School of Languages as one of their electives, are currently working on a cultural assignment about food in the Spanish-speaking world.

One of the requirements, in addition to research and a presentation, was to source an authentic recipe in Spanish and film themselves cooking it, using as much Spanish to describe the ingredients needed and the cooking instructions.

Earlier this week Brendan Zenere and Tyler Boddington had a Mandarin excursion to the Sinofield centre at Leura.  Both are part of our after-hours Mandarin Maintenance program for students with significant previous study/home connection with the Mandarin language. The trip was a great chance to get hands-on with cultural and language activities: a Chinese tea ceremony, musical instrument playing, calligraphy, dumpling making and Dragon dancing were all on the menu.
