“Q @ A”

“Year 11 Q and A Excursion”

Student Report

“Our late night excursion on Monday to the ABC Studios in Ultimo to join the audience of QandA was truly a great and enjoyable experience for me and all those who attended. We knew that going in, that this week’s QandA was going to be a fiery one, due to the mix of different people with different political views on the panel, and it definitely was.
The panel consisted of the Minister for Law Enforcement and Cybersecurity Angus Taylor, Labor Deputy Leader Tanya Plibersek, Greens Leader Richard Di Natale, Political editor of The Daily Telegraph Sharri Markson, Author of the political novel Home Fire Kamila Shamsie, and host Tony Jones. Questions from the audience sparked many discussions, and more so arguments and strong debates, amongst the panel and the audience. Some of the interesting topics “discussed” included bullying within parliament, crimes inside universities, privacy within political articles and what would happen if somebody’s brother joined ISIS. At times, comments made by particular people on particular topics, made me and others want to jump in and give our firm opinions.
Despite nearly all of us getting on TV, we had one Joeys boy ask a question which was great. By the end of the night, everybody knew us Joeys boys as the people with childhood crushes on the Wiggles, due to a joke made by a comedian at the beginning of the night. All in all, it was a fun and enjoyable experience for all those who attended.”
