Finishing Up

With the final day being a week away, the boys have been encouraged to start the pack up process. As with last term, everything will need to be removed from your sons press. This is to ensure the cleaners can get in and do a thorough job and also to enable the rotation of boys in each dorm.

In saying this the boys should be able to leave by 4pm on Thursday June 28 if:

  • their press is empty
  • their lock is placed in the appropriate milk crate and left at the College
  • boarding areas are spotless
  • beds stripped and drawers empty

Day students and Weekly Boarders will need to take all their belongings with them while Full Boarders can leave a bag and their bedding in the storage room in Dorm 12.

Departure Times

Last minute departure times are proving to be a little problematic for the staff on duty in the dorms at 5pm. If we could try and make these changes earlier and by 3.30pm that would be very helpful as the staff are often at sport after this time and trying to adjust this at the last minute with a large amount of boys signing out can be difficult. Thanks for your cooperation here.

Recording at the National Museum

On Wednesday 6 June, a select group of boys from across Years 7 – 12 had the opportunity to be involved in recording choral and voiceover content at Sonar Studios, Fox Studios. This real-world engagement required the students to learn melodies in Latin with the material being used for an upcoming exhibit at the National Museum, Australia which focuses on Roman history.
This was an incredible experience. It was great to be part of the recoding process for media production (Liam Woods, Year 12)
It was great to see how music and other sound design elements are layered into films (Jarrod Dominish, Year 7)
It was a really interesting hands-on experience. We got to learn about recording ‘folley’ (Zac Burgess, Year 10)
A great insight into the music and film industries (Hamish Stuart, Year 8)

The boys enjoyed a tour around the facilities and were walked through the process of sound design on the studio’s most recent large-scale project being Mystery Road (ABC).

Sport Information

This weekend is a home fixture for the First XV so the boys are required to wear their Blues to the match. Just a reminder on a few things for the day;

The boys need to be in the stands by 2pm for the Second XV or at the First XI Football at lower park. Once the First XI Football is complete, the boys are to move to the stands to watch the Rugby.

The boys are to wear their FULL BLUES unless their match is at 1pm. This only relates to the 13B football team and they can wear their tracksuit to the match. Everyone else must be in their BLUES.

The dorms will close at 1.15pm and everyone will need to out of them by 1.30pm to ensure that we are at the park on time. Your cooperation here would be appreciated. The boys will be marked off directly after the game and are free to go from the park. This should be at approx. 4.30pm

The P&F are responsible for running the canteen on home game days and each year group only has to do it once per year…..So don’t miss out on getting involved.

All funds go into the P&F wallet which supports the school with major purchases and facilities for our boys.

Its very social, make sure you hang around after the game and join us for a drink at Jacks bar!

Any questions call Nikki 0408 609 323

Thanks
