Student Art Exhibition
Year 7 Art at the Student Art Exhibition
Visual Arts provides a unique creative learning experience for students to explore personal insights into their world and the world of others. Our Year 7 artists have wholeheartedly engaged with drawing and painting this year in the art studio. Luscious seasonal flowers have been transformed into imaginary alien plant creatures and stunning colourful paintings of bouquet arrangements.
Our young artists have shown enormous enthusiasm in the studio. Throughout the remainder of the year we will continue to promote courage, risk-taking and experimentation in their studio practice, but most importantly an enjoyment of making artworks.
You and your family are invited to attend the opening and view the artwork your son has created at our annual Student Art Exhibition.
For parents new to the College, this large exhibition surveys the artwork of Years 7-12 students currently studying Visual Arts, and showcases the 2018 HSC Bodies of Work. All parents will have received an invitation in the mail.
Date: Friday 17th August at 6.30pm. We hope to see you and your family there.
Dress for the event: Full Blues
Additional viewing times:
Saturday 18th August, 9am-1pm
Sunday 19th August, 9am-2pm

Rural Aid Australia Fundraiser
A big thank you to you all for your generous donations over the last few days and particularly on Saturday at the rugby. St Joseph’s College with assistance from the Kings School and their community managed to raise over $100,000 for Rural Aid Australia. This a remarkable effort and something that we should all be very proud of.

Mathematics Competition
Good luck to the boys involved in the Mathematics Competition held today.
Winter Sport
Just a reminder that we only have two weekends left of Winter Sport. Your son has now chosen his Summer Sport option so it would be good to start thinking about getting organised for this (bringing in necessary equipment).
If your son has chosen rowing, I suggest you hold off buying the rowing zootie. All the boys will need to wear to start with is their PE uniform – white shirt, cap and shorts.
Ground Locations for Rugby this Weekend
Parade Ground – Centennial Park off Grand Drive (the bus will drop the boys off at York Rd gates)
Christison Park – Old South Head Road, Vaucluse
The boys who are playing at these venues will be transported after their match to Scots College to watch the Firsts and Seconds. As this is an away fixture, the boys are to wear their Full College Tracksuit to the match.
The Soccer players are scheduled to catch a bus at 1.30pm leaving from the Mark Streets gates to Scots College.
