
1st XI Cricket report
The St Joseph’s College First XI cricket team had a strong first innings win against Newington College in round 2 of the GPS Competition.
On day 1, Newington scored 143 runs in 67 overs. In reply, Joeys scored 297 runs (78 overs) on remainder of day 1 and day 2. Newington were sent back into bat and were 9/93 at the close of play meaning that Joeys just missed out on an outright victory.
Key contributors from Year 9 were:
- Simon Dodds 20 runs, 3/31 (19 overs) and 1 run out
- Matthew Dodds 40 runs and 1 catch
Max Kirkwood attended on day 2 to operate the scoreboard and assist with 12th man tasks which was greatly appreciated by the players.
