Up in the tower

It’s the last night of Term 1 and a beautiful clear night to look out all over Sydney from the tower before the boys head home early tomorrow morning.

Last Friday the boys who study Agriculture travelled to the College’s Outdoor Education property at Colo. Activities included examining the cattle yards, learning how to do a figure 8 knot, and inspecting the Joeys Angus cattle.

1st and 2nd Year 9 crews at the Head of the River

The boys had a special recess today in honour of St Patrick’s Day. We asked the boys why the cupcakes were green. A few got it right but most were guesses. The best answer was “uranium”. I won’t name who said that!

National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence

Today is the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. For the last few days Year 9 boys have been joined by Year 12 boys to talk about bullying during their pastoral class each day. Still life art works

Mr Fenech’s art class are preparing to paint still life art works in oil. They are currently using overhead projectors to sketch their works in charcoal.

Photography and digital media

Here the boys are exposing their light sensitive paper to the sunlight. These works use a light sensitive paint which is iron based, as opposed to traditional silver based which is often used in photography.

Year 9 at Sunday Mass

Each Sunday night the boarders celebrate Mass with Father Gavin in the Chapel. Tonight it was Year 9’s turn to do the readings and offertory. Parents are most welcome to join us each Sunday night at 8:15pm.
