Athletics Assembly

by | 12 August

This morning we held a socially distanced school assembly just for Year 7 and 8 in order to acknowledge the Junior Athletics team. The Junior team consists of Year 7 and Year 8 boys (with a few Year 9 boys). This team won the Junior GPS competition for the first time in 25 years, a great achievement.

In speaking to the boys the Headmaster, Dr Hayes, pointed out that the boys who had tried out and trained for the athletics squad, even if they didn’t end up competing on the day, had all contributed to the success of the team.

Three Year 8 boys were up on stage during assembly performing roles usually reserved for Year 12 boys. Angus was the cross bearer, Hamish said the prayer and D’Arcy gave the Acknowledgement of Country.
