Art Work Logo Event – Admiralty House

A few weeks back five boys from the Indigenous program from Yr’s 10-12 gathered with Dr. Fenech to design a logo for the Governor General. With a day to complete the task the five boys submitted 7 different designs. On Monday the 17th the five boys along with Mr Morgan the Indigenous Co-ordinator and Mrs Maher the Director of Mission travelled to Admiralty House to present designs to the Governor General and various other leaders. These are the Year 11 boys’ artworks:

Ryan Brown : I created two artworks that represented the unity of Australia. the circular shape in the middle of the Australian outline is my tribal sign for a camp site, or a community. The dots protruding from the campsite are drawings of walking tracks that are going into the campsite, these artworks both represent the unity in the heart of Australia and Uluru’s statement from the heart which preserved Uluru from tourists climbing it as it is a resting ancestor spirit. (Logos 1 and 2).

Kye Harbrow: I created two artworks, one that represents the interconnectedness between both white Australians and Indigenous Australians across the whole of Australia and the 250 different Aboriginal nations. My second artwork depicts a desert imprint, which aboriginal tribes from Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory would draw in the sand. These drawings would identify a certain family or tribe was in the area. (Logos 3 and 4).
