15 C Cricket – Josh Hazelwood visit

Sydney Boys High: 115/8

Joeys: 117/0

Joeys made it 3 wins in a row to finish the season well, with a ruthless batting display at Moore Park. Jono Pennington scored 83 not out (inc 12 fours & 5 sixes), partnered by Tom Miller who contributed with 30 not out, to reach the required target in only 10 overs.

High were initially batting well in their innings, only losing their first wicket after 63 runs. Our boys lacked discipline in the field and with the ball in hand early on, however after a re-set at the drinks break they regained control of the game. The stand out of the bowlers were Lachie Brown (5 overs, 0/14), Tom Petherbridge (5 overs, 1/12), Archie Landers (3 overs, 2/16), Mac Ward (5 overs, 2/15) and Tom Miller (5 overs, 3/21, including a 3 wicket maiden over).

Whilst the boys were disappointed not to win the toss yet again and bat first so that more of them could bat (we have had to bat second in every game this season), overall they finished the season happy with their efforts. Hopefully they learnt a few things along the way and will come back keen for more after the winter sports season.

Thanks to the parents who were able to get to games this year, and to Mr Radziowsky for his huge efforts with organising training and games for the boys.
