On Saturday, Cricket NSW and the NSW Breakers hosted the 1st and 2nd XI cricket squads at Blacktown International Sports Park.
The 1st XI squad played the NSW Breakers (NSW Women’s team) in a 40 over limited overs match while the 2nd XI squad trained on the excellent turf practice pitches located at the Sports Park. The 1st XI team defeated the NSW Breakers by 2 wickets. The NSW Breakers scored 5/187 in their 40 overs while Joeys replied with 8/189 to win the game.
Fifteen Year 10 boys are currently trialling in the 1st/2nd squads. Jack Barclay, Gus Cornish, Callum McCall, Liam Hill and Monty Schmude played in the 1st XI game on Saturday while Rory Newsome, Hamish Smith, Kaden Mixter, James Forder, Will Fahey, Sam Willis, Toby Williams, Patrick Cant, Jonty Fowler and Tom Gandy trained with the 2nd XI squad.
Special mention to Hamish Smith who had the thrill of fielding for the NSW Breakers following an injury to one of their players.
