CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR TENNIS BOYS.

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, Charlie Pade (Y12), Dougall Tyrwhitt and Vitorio Ribeiro Sardinha  all competed for the CIS Tennis team against the other NSW school associations at Bathurst Tennis Centre. The boys all won through their group stages on Tuesday, which contributed to CIS winning the team competition, and meant they progressed to playoff matches on day two which would determine the eight players that would be selected in the NSW ‘Pizzey Cup’ team. Vitorio narrowly missed out on selection which had to be determined by ‘sets won’ due to three boys finishing with the same number of wins. Charlie won all of his matches to secure a top-four ranking in the NSW team and will compete at the national championships in Perth this August. The boys should be congratulated on their efforts – playing exceptional tennis despite their training being significantly disrupted by rain this term. Having three out of eight players in a winning CIS team is a significant achievement in the history of Tennis at the College, and we are very proud of their efforts.
