In the Headmaster’s Assembly on 14 March Olympic medallist Mr Francis Hegerty (Class of 2000) was the guest speaker. He encouraged the boys “to be bold, set outrageous goals, aim high and make the most of the every single opportunity” at Joeys. Mr Hegerty won a silver medal in the coxless four at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and competed as a part of the men’s eight at the London 2012 Games.
The First VIII Rowers were presented on stage and the Second VIII announced ahead of the Head of the River.
Seven Year 12 students were also presented with Honour Blazers for participating in representative sporting teams in recent seasons.
