1st Debating was presented at the assembly today. Tom lead the Acknowledgement of Country.
Lucas Choi performed a solo cello performance ‘Concerto No 1, Movement 1 in Eb Major by Shostakovich’. See video below.
A number of sport awards were presented:
- Tomas, Matias and Sam for their selection in the Australian Under 19 Coxed Four to compete in the Junior World Championships in St Catherines, Canada.
- Cooper for Gold mdeals in the Medley and Freestyle relays at the 2024 Australian Age Swimming Championships. Cooper also won a gold medal swimming for CIS in the Boys 17 & Over 200m Backstroke at the NSW All Schools championships. Cooper also won a silver medal swimming for NSW in the same event at the School Sport Australia Championships. Finally, Cooper also competed in the 2024 Australian Swimming Trials in Brisbane, facing off against the best open age swimmers in the country, and in many cases the best in the world for their event, as they vied for places in the Olympic team. Cooper placed 7th in his heat in the Mens 100m Backstroke, and 5th in his heat in the Mens 200m Backstroke.
- Billy who was selected for Ireland Under 18s 7s Championship team 2024 winning a Bronze Medal
- Cooper who Placed 3rd in the team Division 1 Snowboard Grand Slalom at the Sydney Interschools Snowsports Championships in Perisher, qualifying for the NSW State Championships.
Finally, a number of Rugby representative selections were acknowledged:
- Arthur for selection in AAGPS 1st XV & NSW 1
- Darcy and Jonty for selection in AAGPS 2nd XV & NSW 1
- Ethan for selection in AAGPS 2nd XV & NSW 2
- Ben and Lucas for selection in AAGPS Blue
- Nikolaj for selection in AAGPS White
