Q:  Is there a contingency plan in place for the HSC Trial Examinations if the lockdown in Sydney is extended?

A:  Because the Trial HSC is an internal assessment, there is some flexibility for schools. Additionally, NESA has extended the time schools have to submit internal assessment marks. Having said that, it would be ideal for the schedule to remain unchanged. Therefore, whilst there are plans developed if there needs to be a change, it is hoped that the Trials can continue as planned. As soon as the government gives us details of whether schools (or parts of schools) can return on August 2nd, we will be able to let parents and boys know if there are any changes.

Q:  When will the boys be allowed back to attend face-to-face learning?

A:  At the moment, the NSW Government has set the lock down to end at 11:59pm on Friday 30th July. As a result of this, it is currently expected that school would resume on Monday 2nd August. All return dates are subject to change depending on health advice given to the government.

Q:  What will happen with the Year 12 Graduation and Formal?

A:  At the moment, the dates for these remain as planned. However, the College has developed contingency plans if health orders at the time prevent this. Details of these contingencies will be given to parents in due course, however, in 2020 the College was able to ensure that Year 12 had a fantastic send-off, including their Formal and Graduation. It is absolutely our intention to ensure this for the Class of 2021.

Q:  During the HSC are boarders allowed to remain at the College?

A:  Yes. When school resumes for Term 4, all boarders are welcome to come back into boarding for the HSC period. They can remain in boarding until their final examination. There is some flexibility around being able to take time away as some boys will have many days between some exams. More information will be sent to parents prior to the start of Term 4, however, in previous years pretty much every boarder has remained in boarding during the HSC.
