Last Saturday Wrap Up

Attached are the scores submitted from last weeks games
The scores show the achievements of the boys on the day. However, I would like to ponder on three things that aptly represents the special community at Joeys.
– There were 38 matches played at the Park and College grounds yesterday. It was very pleasing to note that 17 of these games were refereed by students. If we exclude the 2 games that were appointed by NSW Referees, over 47% of the games were managed by current students – a remarkable achievement. Special mention to Year 11 student Aidan O’Farrell – he started his day playing for the 6th XV in the 9.00am game on SJC No 1; he was next seen on College C at 11.00am refereeing the 13C game; he was out in the middle on College C again at 12.00pm refereeing the 13A game; following a short break he was back at SJC No 1 at 2.00pm running the line as assistant referee in the 2nd XV game.
– The 2nd XV (a number of Yr 11 students) gave the 13G team a tremendous lift when they turned up at 9.00am on College B to run the water for them. The care and attention of the 2nd XV boys is a great example for us all.
