Welcome Back

Welcome to Term Three everyone. As discussed earlier this will be a big term. 10 weeks, two rallies, the GPS Athletics Carnival and a Family Mass. I have attached the dates for these events just in case you missed this in the earlier emails. Before we know it, your son(s) will be in their final weeks of Year 7. How time flies.

It has been great to have the boys back and to see all their happy smiley faces. It has also been wonderful to hear about the many adventures over the holiday period. All the boys have settled in nicely and have made a positive start to the term. Peter Ross and I met with the boys on Tuesday morning and stressed the importance for a positive start to the term. It is important that the boys set high standards and maintain these over the course of this long, busy term. In starting well, Peter and I encouraged the boys to focus on their standard of dress, their greetings and interactions with one another and their teachers and to strive for academic success. This tied in nicely with Peter’s session on goal setting. More to follow on this.

I have also encouraged the boys to now display some leadership skills. They have been here long enough to know the drill and we are encouraging the boys to lead by example. It has been pleasing to see various examples of this on display particularly on the playground.

This term, Resilience will be the focus during Pastoral Care time. This will kick off with activities during Pastoral Care lessons next week and we will look at addressing aspects such as gratitude, emotions and empathy (ongoing from the last two terms).

Thanks for a smooth start to the term and I look forward to seeing you all out and about.
