If you want to change the world start by making your bed…

Last week the boys watched a video in our Year 7 division meeting. We spoke about them making their beds each day….but more importantly doing the little things right to make the big things right:

Laurie Daley at training

The 13A rugby team had a visit from former Australian rugby league player and NSW Origin player and coach, Laurie Daley.

13B and 13D rugby head to Armidale

The Armidale School (TAS) is part of the GPS. A number of Joeys teams are in Armidale this weekend including 13B and 13D. Here at the boys at Wyong and then Scone in the way up.

13F rugby

Early bus for the 13F rugby this morning. Cool morning but probably warmer than Armidale.

Colo this morning

The boys at Colo started the day getting dropped by the bus before they even arrived at the Colo property. Here they have stopped by the Colo river for lunch before crossing the river and continuing their walk.

Organisms in water

Tarban Creek is home to the Joeys boat shed and drains into Sydney Harbour. Its water is also home to some organisms which can only be seen under the microscope.

Drawing in Art

Sketch a coke can Open and drink the can Crush the can and sketch it again!

NAPLAN

The boys finished NAPLAN testing on Thursday. The emphasis was on doing their best and the boys completed it really well.

Cleaning shoes

Who knew shoe cleaning could be so popular? The boys were queuing up.

The boys in the hall for NAPLAN this morning.

Sunday afternoon NRL

A good afternoon at the NRL: Eels v Dragons at the new BankWest stadium. The boys had a good time and the right team won.

College War Cry

In preparation for the start of the winter sport season, the year 12 cheer leaders taught the Year 7 boys the College “War Cry” which is used each time a rugby or football team runs onto the field.

ANZAC Assembly

The boys observed ANZAC Day at assembly this week. Our guest at assembly was Old Boy Lt Commander Philip Playford (1952) who was joined by his grandson, year 8 student Ben Playford and the Headmaster Dr Chris Hayes who laid wreaths. A number of Year 7 boys also wore the medals of their relatives.  

Academic application awards

Each term teachers are able to nominate students in their class who deserve an Academic Application Award. The award is not related to academic performance but the way the boys apply themselves to their studies in that subject. Boys with the most nominations are recognised at a Headmaster’s Assembly. On site car parking at Saturday home games

There is restricted parking within the College for Winter sport home games commencing this weekend. Between the hours of 7.30am and 2.30pm: Ryde Road, Gladesville Road & Mark Street gates will be open for pedestrian access only. Gladesville Road gates will be open to vehicles displaying an RMS disabled parking permit.
