Year 9: 2011

Dear Parents and Carers of  Year Nine students,

I trust the holiday break with your sons was relaxing and refreshing.  This is just a quick note to introduce myself to you, as the Academic Coordinator of Year Nine for 2011. Through the coming year, I will be sending  you these occasional “Academic Newsbriefs” in order to enable you keep in touch with academic issues affecting your sons.   Firstly, I wish to express my appreciation for the fine spirit with which the boys have started the year.  The beginning of this year has been very smooth, especially when one considers that we have been joined by 24 new boys, bringing up the cohort total number to 174 boys.  This is, I think, the largest ever Year Nine group in the history of the College.  The parents, staff and boys here have been very welcoming to the  new additions to our group, and we look forward to having a successful year together.

Tonight (Friday) we celebrate the Academic Prize Giving for 2010 – a great night to acclaim and affirm our highest achieving students from the  previous academic year.  As you can see below, I have included a list of the boys who will be honoured tonight.
