Our guest speaker, Gail Kelly, delivered a wonderful speech last Friday. a very brief summary of her inspiring speech;

 

Love what you do
• Know your strengths
• Find your passion
• Follow your dreams
• Don’t hesitate to change (Mrs Kelly started as a teacher in South Africa)

Choose to be positive

• Stand tall, in both literal and figurative terms
• Don’t sugar-coat the difficult issues
• Ask “what can I learn?” from my challenges

Make a difference
• Be “generous of spirit”, which must not be considered synonymous with soft leadership; it takes great true courage to lead in this way
• Have a deep belief in the dignity of every person
• Choose a different/right path, not just the common or easy path
• Be fully present when you talking with someone
