About the Author: Peter FitzSimons is a well-respected journalist for The Sydney Morning Herald and Sun-Herald, has played rugby for Australia, co-hosted radio shows with Mike Carlton and Doug Mulray, interviewed famous people around the globe from George Bush to Diego Maradona, is the Chair of the Australian Republican Movement and has written over 27 best-selling books.

About the Books: The Catalpa Rescue: The gripping story of the most dramatic and successful prison break in Australian history.

We will also have available copies of the book Fair Go. Sport, which captures the best, most inspiring and heartwarming tales of sport. It is a collection of some of the best sporting tales.

About the Books & Blokes Series: We began the Books & Blokes series at Joeys in 2012 as part of an initiative to encourage all men at Joeys to read. This breakfast series aims to encourage men both at home and in the college community to share their love of reading with the boys, to talk about and recommend books they have enjoyed and to help spread the message that “It’s OK for Blokes to Read”. We aim to bring in a broad range of inspirational and interesting speakers to share their stories with the “men” at Joeys over a casual and laid back breakfast.
