Olympian visit: Aidan Roach

Last Thursday Year 7 had a visit from Aidan Roach. Aidan competed in the London 2012 Summer Olympics as part of the Australian Men’s Waterpolo team.

Aidan spoke about his journey to representing Australia. He spoke about the importance of setting goals and chasing them. He noted that he had two simple goals hanging above his bedroom door which helped him to maintain his focus.

He also spoke about some of the adversities he has faced during his career including injury and when he felt like giving up. However with the support of people around him he persisted and achieved his goal of being selected to complete in the London 2012 Olympics.

He hopes to be selected to compete in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
