Father son weekend information

Dear Parents and Carers,

Just a few updates regarding this weekend’s father/son camp.

  1. The weather forecast is quite good and the weekend will definitely go ahead. Luckily we’ve missed the flooding down south and the damaging winds in other parts of the state today.

A summary of the local forecast:

Friday Partly cloudy. Min 11°C Max 21°C (“feels like” temperatures 8°C to 18°C). 40% chance of 0 to 3 mm rain in the morning, clearing by about 1 pm. Average wind speed 9 to 17 km/hr.

Saturday Partly cloudy. Min 9°C Max 24°C (“feels like” temperatures 7°C to 20°C). 0% chance of rain. Average wind speed 6 to 13 km/hr.

Sunday Partly cloudy. Min 10°C Max 20°C (“feels like” temperatures 6°C to 16°C). 20% chance of 0 to 0.4 mm rain in the morning. Average wind speed 11 to 17 km/hr.

  1. Please take care on Upper Colo Road as you drive in. I’ve been advised that Newington cadets will be starting a camp on Saturday morning in the Colo Valley and 8 large coaches will be used to drop them off. You may be entering the valley as these coaches leave. Upper Colo Road is a narrow and windy country road with not a lot of room for a coach and car to pass one another, so it’s best if you’re driving slowly enough that you can pull stop right off to the side of the road.

  1. We’re still looking for a number of volunteers to assist throughout the weekend with cooking, cleaning up etc. Nothing too stressful. In keeping with the other activities this weekend we ask that fathers and sons do the activities together.
